Sunday morning I was up and sitting across the street from my lot, trying to get a little more comfortable and visiting with the passers by. When I was more relaxed I went collecting and hunting for treasures to sell in my yard sales. After a little fishing I headed home and was met by Jeep Girl,"Oh wow! You got a great murk going on there!" She told me. It made me feel better about my stench.
She had just left when Sunshine showed up. He started rambling on about bone-fish. "So like, after the big storm passes, the little bone fish like, finds a new home in the reef and a new family. And they teach him stuff and their ways and things. Then a while later he meets this new fish who, you know, he really likes and stuff. But like, there is like this whole big ocean and stuff, and he doesn't know if he should like, you know make it with this new fish or wait and see what else is out there. You know. So anyway, I'll see ya around." Then he trotted off leaving me a little confused.
After Sunshine's strange story, I tried to relax by playing Don't Wake the Llama. I wasn't very good at it yet. Then Lavender Pink showed up to say hi. "Whoa, Jeepy was right. You totally have a great murk going on!" She sniffed the air and laughed. At the same time Sunshine was walking back by and stopped to sniff the air too. I was more than a little embarrassed. Neither of them stayed after that so I began cleaning up my camp and Sandy Sunleaf showed up.
While I was talking with her, Sunshine came back and said he just wanted to hangout for a while. I introduced him to Sandy. Sunshine told a few jokes and I told a few outrageous stories. I made us all some baked potatoes. He really seemed to like them, he hardly looked up from his plate. I got the feeling he wished Sandy would leave. Maybe he wanted to tell me another story about fish.
It was getting late and he left followed shortly by Sandy. I was still trying to figure out his story. I think he was the bone fish. 'So does that make me the new fish,' I wondered, 'and what does he mean by, "make it with"? Aren't we just friends?' I was getting sleepy and my thoughts were all running together so I ate my fruit and went to sleep.
I didn't sleep good that night. I woke feeling murky and had to use the bush. Since I was up and it was already Monday, I decided to go to the hot springs.
The hot water refreshed my skin and bubbled away the murkiness. I was still thinking about the bone-fish story. I was pretty sure it was Sunshine's way of trying to tell me he found our relationship confusing for himself. I was okay with just being friends at the moment. I had so much more to do.
After my soak, I grabbed a bowl of cereal from the cooler and glanced around. I saw Jeep Girl over by the picnic area and went to join her. She had found a plate of veggie burgers someone had made and was having an early lunch. We chatted for a bit and then were joined by the librarian, Myra.
Jeep girl was about to leave, when a young lady by the name of, Kriss Kross showed up. She was a camp mate of Sahara and Sandy from Nukecrest. We all sat and chatted and joked around for a while. "You should really come visit," Kriss told me,"all the other girls would love to meet you I'm sure." I told her I would try and come by tomorrow. By then I was getting sleepy. I guess my early rise had caught up with me.
When I got home I took a nap, but the lot was making me sick feeling so I couldn't take care of my plants. So I ate my trash fruit and went to sleep again, hoping the feeling would pass. It did and I woke in the middle of the night to garden.
Tuesday I had a late breakfast and while I sat eating I took in the wonderful view from my picnic table. It wasn't every morning I saw that passing by.....the shirtless guys weren't bad to look at either...(Laughs)
I took the bus to Nukecrest to visit the ladies who lived at the Artist Colony camp. It was so cool and looked like a fun place to live. They were all out enjoying the day.
Sandy was playing chess with a lady named, Mercy Skies and Sahara was playing horse shoes with Blue Dustwind. I also met Ryder Arch and Ronni Gurlz. I had a wonderful time talking and hanging out with them all. They all looked to be thriving here.
I noticed they also had a little radio and it was playing one of my favorite songs so I started dancing. Soon they were all dancing too. One thing about living here, you don't have to dance alone for very long.
I had a wonderful day but by the time I got back home I was covered in murk again and my trash piles were making the matter worse. I headed down to the creek to do some fishing. the air was fresher there. After a while I ate my dinner and fruit and called it a night.
Wednesday morning I took care of my plants, they were getting better and better each day, then I went to the hot springs. I was the only one there. It seemed not many people ever came at the same time I was using it.
From the springs lot I could see someone had left some food on the picnic tables across the street. There were a couple of people there so I thought to join them. Turns out the lady was the librarian, she had had a makeover and I barely recognized her. We were chatting when an older man, who looked somewhat familiar, came over and said,"May I join you ladies?" in a rather flirty tone. I didn't see the harm and said ok.
That was until he sat next to me and began smiling in a very unsettling manner. 'I'm not old, it's just my hair!' I thought, seeing the way he glanced at my head. Then I told a funny story to break the awkwardness. I guess he liked it, he gave me a round of applause. Then Myra got up to leave. I waved goodbye,'Bye..thanks for leaving me here alone with this creepy old guy.' I wondered if he could read minds because his mood changed and he left grumpy.
After I was alone again, I rummaged around in the trash can. I had been finding some good stuff in these things lately. When I got home, I tended my plants. I was up to seven now. I started a couple of new piles, which always made me feel a little murky and then ate one of my fresh fruits before ending the day.
Thursday wasn't very exciting. I had a yard sale, Pookey showed up to buy another of the figurines I had found. Everyone else seemed more excited about my new trash piles in the back of my lot. Later I did a little dance practice before going to bed.
Friday I was ready for my visit to the hot springs more than you could know. I was feeling a little lonely so invited the Freegan gang to come with me. They were such a fun loving bunch of people, I loved hanging out with them. Sunshine was even in a more relaxed mood. He didn't even bring up bone fish a single time.
Then out of no where they all just left. I guess they had some where they needed to be. I decided to go for a little retail therapy and went to the Mercantile Shop. I bought a yoga mat hoping the stretching would help me relax when I was feeling uncomfortable. Then I did a little more fishing. Fish made great fertilizer.
When I got back home I made a plate of baked potatoes. There was a plant near by so I had been making them a lot lately. I tried doing some gardening but was feeling too uncomfortable. I tried my new mat but it wasn't working, I was too tired, so I gave up and went to sleep, after eating my fruit.
Saturday morning I woke up to more plants. I was pretty happy, I was up to eleven now. And with the trash pile cleared up for the moment the lot wasn't as murky. I held another sale, thankful that the customers wouldn't be playing with my trash, I did okay. Then I had a couple of visitors. Sahara stopped by to tell me everyone really liked my visit and to come again when I could. Then one of the men that lived with Alma stopped by to say hi.
After my lunch, Alma showed up to chat for a little bit. She had heard I was doing good on my work here, and she gave me a book to read. It looked like some sort of old journal type thing. She told me once I had finished reading it I should come visit her at the old factory in Nukecrest. She said we would have a lot to talk about then.
That evening I was really murky feeling. I tried to use my mat but it didn't help at all.I broke down and used one of my bottles of deodorant. I had to so I could take care of my little babies, my trash plants. After all it was a whole day before I could visit the hot springs and I didn't want any to die on me. Soon I was eating my fruit and heading to my tent. All in all a pretty good week.
