The beginning of week nine found me out and about collecting. While picking some daisies, I noticed a man I had never seen before fishing in one of my favorite spots. I introduced myself and found he, his wife, and daughter lived in a bunker in the Mad Mud faction. We chatted for a bit and then I ran home to find Forest waiting for me near my mail box.
He said he just wanted to visit and see how my plants were doing. I told him of my progress and then made us some, freshly picked, baked potatoes. While we were chatting, Jeep Girl came by to visit. Out of all the Murklanders I had met, she was my next closest friend, after Sunshine.
We all talked for a little bit, I told her about my plants, and then she left. Forest stayed and ate his potato while I cleaned up a little. I made us a bonfire and we danced and hung out for a time.
Soon he said he had to go. A few seconds after he left, Jeep Girl came back and we did some cloud watching. You would be surprised the things people tell you while looking at clouds. Since it was getting late she decided to head on to her camp and I ate my fruit and took an early night.
I guess my murkiness caught up with me sometime during the night, because I woke early Monday morning covered in it. Not wanting to spend the day at the hot springs, I went ahead and used a jar of deodorant. While tending my garden, I had another plant evolve into perfect! Then I had an early morning sale. Pookey showed up but was disappointed in what I had.
After the sale ended, I cleared the table and then worked on my bonsai plant to clear my mind some. Then I went through my inventory and discovered I had a bunch of figurines. So I restocked my table and held another sale. Pookey showed up again and I could tell by the way he scratched his chin and smiled he saw something he wanted. He left really happy.
I was pretty sure he finished his collection. I had to go next door and tell Brennachan, I knew she would be happy for him. I still thought they were a secret item. She greeted me and I was right, she was really happy about it. We started dancing and Sunshine showed up. I tried to get him to dance with me, but he was very mellow acting and just said a quick hi and bye before going to bed. I stayed and danced with the other Freegans for a bit before heading back to my camp and picking a fresh trash fruit before bed.
Tuesday, I was eating baked potato and thinking about Sunshine. I wondered if he was still grumpy about the whole staying in shallow waters thing, but I didn't dwell on it. I decided to go on a visit to see my friends in Nukecrest. They were all busy when I showed up, playing games and building skills. I chatted with a few of them. Sahara told me a sad story which mad me feel kind of depressed so I went for a walk.
I had just dug up a cool rock I found, when I noticed Sunshine heading my way in the distance. I was really murky now from digging, and didn't want to be stinky in front of him so quickly put on some cream. When he got close I greeted him and then stupidly asked him if he was stalking me, in a flirty joking voice. He just stared at me and I felt so embarrassed. "I got somewhere to be, and stuff. Seeya Styles," he told me and walked off.
When I got back home, I was a little sad. I tried reading but couldn't really focus on my book. I almost didn't even see a fancy dressed Pookey walk by. I wondered if Brennachan was dressed up somewhere too. I didn't go find out, I just ate my fruit and went to bed.
Wednesday I held another sale. Yevette came by and she said something that made me think about Sunshine. So I decided to invite the Freegans all to the hot springs with me. I also invited Myra and introduced her to everyone. I told Sunshine I was sorry about my joking. But secretly I wondered if he was really out there because he was just checking up on me. He said it was okay and we joked around in a nice, non flirty, way. Then we all had a nice lunch together.
Not long after that, everyone left and I was all alone again. After soaking until I was nearly clean, I went down and did some fishing before heading home.
Only when I got there I realized I didn't have any trash fruit, I had sold it all again. I went next door and asked Autumn if I could have one of hers and she said sure. While I was munching on it, Sunshine came up behind me, "There's my murky lady friend," then he asked why I was there so late. I explained. He asked me to stay a while but I was so sleepy and I had to catch the bus in the morning, so I said good bye and shuffled home.
Thursday I headed back to Granite Falls, I wanted to do some collecting and fishing. I spent pretty much all day doing just that and then fell asleep on a log.
Friday morning after a shower I cooked up some baked potatoes and did some more fishing. I was joined by some of my yard sale customers but neither of them caught anything. After the bus ride home I decided to try cooking some beetles I had found. They tasted pretty good, or maybe I was getting burnt out on eating only potatoes. It had been a quiet past few days.
Saturday I held a sale and Yevette showed up, she always came to my sales but never bought anything. She just chatted a bit and then would leave. Just before I closed up for the day, one of the Turbo Pumpkins showed up and started yelling about the stuff I was selling, calling it all junk. I was upset and went next door to share my experience, but no one was home yet.
Soon the whole gang showed up and after I greeted them all, I told them about the Pumpkin guy and his visit. Willow was pretty upset by it. "Grrrr, those Turbo Pumpkins!!" She exclaimed angrily. Then we all chatted and Sunshine performed his fire dance. When we were heading back to eat, he stopped me and said he wanted to talk for a bit.
We had barely said anything to each other when Veegan joined us, "So what's the deal with you two? You a couple, or what?" We just sort of looked at each other and sighed. "We are both hungry, that's what we are," I replied, jokingly and we all went back to eat. Everyone was laughing and chatting, but Sunshine. He kept looking at me with big sad eyes. He finally gave up and went to bed. I stayed and danced for a while.
Soon I jogged home and ate my fruit. I'm not 100% sure about what Sunshine was wanting to talk about but I can guess it was about, 'swimming in the water' together. I was sure I'd find out soon enough. This week had gone by pretty fast for me.
