Sunday morning of week eight I was holding a sale, after my gardening was finished, and I was trying to sell some glow fruit I found at the Cliff Dwellers. Betsy Turbo Pumpkin had just showed up and was yelling at me for trying to sell them. Apparently they have a strange effect on the Murkland men. The Mayor's wife, Aeon happened to be there checking up on me and said to sell what I had but not to pick anymore to sell. Dusty stopped by and comforted my bruised feelings.
Sunshine also showed up about that time. I was happy to see him and invited him to hangout for a bit after my sale ended. I wanted to talk to him about, us. I'd been doing some thinking and told him I didn't want to 'swim into serious waters' just yet. That I thought we should hang out where it's more 'shallow', just until I finished my tasks. I am not sure how he took the news. He said he understood, but I could tell by the way he quietly crammed food in his mouth that he was not really happy about it.
Even later when we were dancing and showing off moves, he slipped up a few times. I think it embarrassed him, because he said he needed to go and left. I hoped he would become okay with the idea in time. I just didn't want to neglect my plants or him and thought it was just better to wait. I nibbled at my trash fruit while thinking about it all.
Monday I did some shopping. I wanted some chairs to sit next to the fire in, along with a few other things. Then did some fertilizer fishing. That afternoon I invited some of the Nukecrest girls to the hot springs. We danced and chatted and had a relaxing time.
After they all left, I sang along with the radio for a little while before heading home to clean up camp and head to bed.
The thing about socializing at the hot springs was, I never seemed to get clean enough. So Tuesday I was packing on deodorant so I could garden. Afterward I practiced my fire dancing. It was getting late and then I realized I had sold all the trash fruit I had, so I went next door to the Freegan's place to ask for some. While talking with Brennachan, Sunshine came up and started talking to the plant between us. I think he wanted to make sure I saw him, or heard him, or something.
Later someone made some grilled fruit, and when I was eating he joined me and started telling me about an assignment he was going on for the Mayor. He said I wouldn't see him for a few days, and that I probably wouldn't even miss him. "Of course I will!" I told him. "I guess...," he mumbled and then went to bed. I went over and talked to his trash plant a little before I left. "Your daddy is in some mood tonight..," I whispered to it. To my surprise I maxed my charisma skill. I should of talked to plants more often. Back home I ate my fruit wishing my plants would evolve faster.
Wednesday I played on the new guitar I had bought at the mercantile and I read in a fitness book while sitting in one of my new chairs. Something told me these skills would come in handy here in Murkland. That evening I held a sale. Betsy came back,"I see your still selling glow fruit!" She was getting riled. "I just have a few left. I don't sell them to any men." I told her. "Well make sure you don't!" She told me before leaving. I gave up after she left and went to bed.
I woke up covered in murk early Thursday morning. I had to make more deodorant and then I went frog hunting. That afternoon, I invited some of the Nukecrest ladies to the music festival lot. I needed some fun. We all did some group dancing again. It was a blast!
Then we hung out around the bonfire, eating, drinking and laughing. Then this guy in shiny pants shows up and starts dancing, really close to me, and they all started to leave. Kriss Kross wouldn't even go to the bushes first. Later, while eating my trash fruit, I saw the same guy walking snootily down the sidewalk. Another girls night ruined by some strange guy, oh well.
Friday I spent most of the day at the hot springs. I saw Precipice walking by and quickly went to greet her. I apologized again for the other day. She was in a much better mood and just laughed it off. I asked her to join me and we chatted, mostly about the men in our life and the way they can make us crazy, and we soaked together for a while. It was a good day and I left the hot springs with a new friend.
Saturday I still had to use some deodorant cream to take care of my plants. I had a visit from Sandy Sunleaf in between weeding and watering, and another plant evolved to perfect. Yay! Lavender pink was walking by so I ran over and told her about it.
That evening I went fishing again because I was out of fertilizer, and then made more deodorant. While I ate my old baked potato, I wondered what Sunshine was up to. I did miss him. I hoped he was okay and that he'd be back soon. Then I nibbled my trash fruit to end my week.
