Pally's Murkland Memories: Week 6 Jul 14, 2017 22:17:52 GMT

Week six! That Sunday I woke feeling pumped. I must have slept better than I thought. I did a little reading in Alma's book and then took care of my plants. After, I had to go out for a jog. My lot was stinking it up again and I needed some fresh air.
While out, the bus driver stopped me and said I had an invite from Myra, the librarian. She wanted to eat at the Puffer Dome. I hopped on the bus and was there in no time. I chatted with her a bit and then got us a table. Thankfully she didn't seem to mind the green cloud following me around. I ordered us the only thing on the menu. Water and puffer fish nigiri.
It was actually not that bad. Although I thought that the bone fish was the only safe fish to eat in Murkland. I was nearly done eating my own dish when I noticed Myra hadn't even touched hers. "Something wrong?" I asked. "Oh, no. Not really. I just don't eat meat," She said, matter of factly,"Anyway I need to get back to the library. Seeya around." And she took off, leaving me to get the bill for her un-eaten dish. Later I explored and did some fishing before heading back home and taking an early night sleep.
Monday I was up early, collecting and fishing again. Later I invited the Freegans to the hot springs with me but only Veegan showed up and he didn't stay long. Soon I was left alone. 'This sure happens a lot,' I thought to myself.
I soaked alone for some time then noticed a free meal over by the picnic area. After my meal, I was about to head home, when Sunshine came walking down the sidewalk so I invited him to hangout for a little bit. It had been some time since we had been alone. He was in a good mood and told me some crazy stories and we danced for a while. He even did some funny dance moves. It felt great to laugh and joke with him again.
"I've really missed this," I told him. "Me too," he smiled his big sunny smile and we hugged. I was so happy to have my best friend back. Then he held my hands like that night when we had first become best friends, "You know, Styles, I..I'm not that great with, you know, feelings and stuff, but I, well..." He didn't seem to be able to say what he wanted. That or he caught sight of Brennachan walking down the sidewalk and got embarrassed. I told him not to worry about it and tried to tell a joke. A normal, non-flirty, hopefully safe joke. Then he took my hand again and said,"You know, I...well I, I'm really happy we're friends again." I smiled and agreed.
It was really late after that and we both decided to head home. I was so tired when I got back I couldn't do anything in my garden so just ate my fruit and went to bed.
Tuesday after breakfast I cleaned up my camp. I had bought a new trash can and I had to say, it was nice to be able to throw the trash away. Since my evening with Sunshine last night, I was in a pretty happy mood, so I held a yard sale. Pookey showed up but wasn't interested in the figurines I had today so he cleaned my grill. I was about to close up when Myra showed up and wanted to hang out for a bit.
We played Don't Wake the Llama. I was sure I would lose but I guess all my practicing had paid off, I won! She chatted for a bit more then she jogged home. It had been a long day so I just went to bed after that.
Wednesday I woke up and had a plant evolve to perfect! I was super excited about that. I held another sale, but my stuff wasn't up to par I guess, and one of the customers still found a way to play with my trash! After the sale I was going to visit a friend in Nukecrest, Yevette. I changed into the other outfit I had managed to make with the scraps Kaci the hermit gave me, and hopped on the bus.
When I stepped off the bus I was greeted by Yevette's daughter, Gift. She took me inside their little camp. It was a little government set up place. She said they had been here since after the simpocalypse. It was cute. She and her mother lived there with three other little families. I met a father and son duo named, Antony and Raul McCabe. I was hungry so offered to make dinner for them all. I had barely gotten to eat anything when the bus driver showed up and told me Sunshine was wanting me to meet him at the Puffer Dome. 'Oh no! Not again,' I thought.
I nervously went. He was waiting out front for me,"Lookin good, Styles," he greeted me,"I just thought it'd be nice to maybe, you know, get a drink or dance, or something." "Let's dance!" I said, not wanting to repeat our last time here. We did a fun dance together. My favorite move was the Hair Comber. When we finished he started acting like he wanted to say something but was too nervous. Then he said, "Would you, like, uh, excuse me for a minute? I need to go out back." "Sure," I replied,"I'll wait here."
Well, he ran back to where the bushes are and I started dancing solo. I danced and danced and waited and danced. It was getting late so I went back to check on him and found him sleeping in a bush. I wasn't mad, well maybe a little mad. I think I was mostly just getting sleepy. "Hey, Sunshine!" I yelled,"It's getting late. I'm leaving now. Thanks for the dance." I left after that and when I got home I looked at my trash fruit for sometime while I was trying to figure out this man. In the end I gave up and went to sleep.
Thursday I tried to focus my mind. I still had trash plants to evolve to perfect before my task was complete along with a few skills to master. I just couldn't think straight. I noticed a few friends talking across the street and went to join them. In the end I invited Alma to hangout for a little while but she wanted to run home and change into something more comfy.
When she got back we played cards and I made her some dinner. She was kind of jumpy and kept acting like she was being watched. She was looking at the trees and sky like there were hidden cameras every where. While we ate I tried to get to know her some but as usual she was not very open. I told her some of what I had been up to and how I was almost finished with my first set of tasks here. She didn't stay much longer and after she left I went to visit the Burner Camp.
I was still working on making them all really good friends and was also curious if they had any tips on how to deal with men and how to get my plants to evolve faster. But as I visited with them I realized, non of them had boyfriends or any romantic relationships, at least ones they wanted people to know of, and their plants always looked sad and brown. So I asked Lavender if she ever used fish to fertilizer her plants. She seemed surprised and said it was a great idea she would try. Soon the murkiness got to me and I jogged home and ate my fruit before going to sleep.
Friday my bonsai plant arrived. I had wanted to see if it would help with changing my mood so I could work in my garden. It did! Even though I felt horrible, it made me focused so I could get work done. When I was done though, I felt sick at my stomach. The smell of the plants mixed with my own murkiness was a little too overpowering. So I invited the Freegans to come with me to the hot springs. Sunshine and Brennachan didn't come, but I visited with the others for a while.
Then they all left, again. I was feeling bold and decided to go skinny dipping. I was sitting in the hot bubbly water letting it clean all my nooks and crannies when I heard a gasp behind me. I quickly put my clothes back on. Brennachan was standing on the sidewalk. "You should never go skinny dipping here," she told me,"if the Mayor finds out he could ban you from the hot springs. He is against public nudity." "Oh, sorry. I wasn't told," I replied, slightly embarrassed. Later when eating my trash fruit I thought,'That must be why he is always wearing those sweaters. Oh well.'
Saturday, before the sun had even made its mark in the sky, I heard someone talking outside my tent. I went to see who it was and found Forest Tree talking to my trash plants. He told me he just wanted to come by and see how they were doing and offer me a deal. He would give me some garden tips if I would teach him some of my dance moves. I agreed.
After a while he left happy. I couldn't help but wonder who he wanted to impress with new dance moves. I got to work in my garden, putting his advice to use. I was in the middle of making some deodorant cream when I heard someone whistling near my mail box. It was Sahara, she had come to visit.
After I greeted her, she promptly made her way to my table and grabbed a plate of old potatoes. I chatted with her for a bit and made some grilled fruit. She said she didn't mind spoiled food. She had gotten used to it because that was all she had to eat during the simpocalypse. She was just a girl then and told me some of the scary stuff she went through.
After she left I tried to have a yard sale. Pookey showed up and looked rather sad. I guess I didn't have anything he wanted. I did sell a few things and was pretty close to making the money I needed to complete my task. Later , when eating my fruit, I couldn't help but think that this had been a pretty good week. I got my best friend back, mostly, he still acted a little strange. But for the most part things were back to normally here in Murkland.
